Thank you to our group members already booked on this tour; we are looking forward to travelling with you on this special summer festivals tour.

For other people not yet booked and as bookings & deposits are necessary by 20 FEBRUARY to secure the Category One Carmen opera seats already reserved, 4MBS is providing a tour information night for Brisbane people on Tuesday 14 February 2012 at 6pm in the station's Performance Studio.

The Tour Information Night will be hosted by 4MBS Broadcasts Manager/Tour Music Host, Howard Ainsworth and Tour Leader, Les Thompson. Video highlights will be shown and all questions will be answered by Howard and Les.

Please remember that although bookings and deposits are required by 20 February. Full payment is not due until 18 April 2012.

The year 2012 marks the 800^th anniversary of the formation of Leipzig’s Thomanerchor (St. Thomas Boys‘ Choir) which was directed by the great composer, Johann Sebastian Bach between 1723 and 1750.

To celebrate this composer’s outstanding contribution to classical and sacred music we begin this tour in Leipzig, a city with many impressive music associations, including Bach, Telemann, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Wagner & Mahler. It then follows an exciting course of Music & Wine experiences through Germany, Austria & Hungary to a spectacular performance of Bizet’s grand opera, Carmen at the Ancient Roman Quarry
